Elementary PSA President’s Message

President’s Message – November 2016

Dear Kelly and Linntown Families,

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it is in that spirit of thankfulness, that I thank all of our families for the time, talent, and treasure they share to support our children.

The fall is a bustling time at both Kelly and Linntown as we begin a new academic year and welcome new families. Our Kindergarten Kick-Off at St. Mary’s Park was a huge success as our kindergartners and their parents had a chance to meet new friends. The Linntown Ice Cream Social saw over a hundred students and parents play and mingle while enjoying coffee and ice cream at the Linntown playground before the open house.

This is also a time of pumpkin patch visits, hay-rides, the Scholastic book fairs and many more programs. We are so thankful that we’re able to support anti-bullying initiatives at both schools through guest artist Stephen Courtney at Kelly and the BMX at Linntown. Guest author, Jonathan Rand of the American Chillers series also made an appearance before our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders and in honor of the election year, we were able to team up with the Middle School PSA to bring in USA to Z by Bright Star Theater to both middle school and Linntown students.

Each year we try a few new initiatives and this year is no different. In the spirit of community, the PSA is supporting the Snack Pack program organized by Bucknell University. In addition, we’ve added a speaker series to our PSA meetings. Kelly social worker, Cassie Stafford kicked off our series and representatives from the Lewisburg Children’s Museum will be speaking at our November meeting on Monday, November 14.

As you peruse this newsletter, please know that none of this would be possible without your help. Thank you. Also know that I am always open to suggestions or comments on how we can do a better job in helping to support our children.

Thank you,
Lisa Tranquillo
