Advertisement for Bids: Kelly Elementary Renovation Project

The Lewisburg Area School District will receive sealed bids from Prime General Construction Contractors, Prime Plumbing Construction Contractors, Prime Electrical Construction Contractors and Prime Food Service Equipment Contractors for Kelly Elementary Multi-Purpose Room & Kitchen  Renovation until 10:00A.M., prevailing time, on Friday March 8, 2019, at the Administration Offices located at 1951 Washington Ave, Lewisburg, PA 17837. Proposals received after that time will not be accepted. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time.

The project involves all work required for Multi-Purpose Room and Kitchen Renovation as described in the drawings and contract documents as prepared by Mid-Penn Engineering Corporation.

Copies of the contract documents are available upon request from the engineer.  Contact Joseph Bolick at 570-524-2214 or for information regarding acquisition of contract documents.  The engineer’s normal print shop fees will be used if bidder desires hardcopies of contract documents.  An additional fee is required if the contract documents are to be mailed.

A certified check or bank draft payable to the order of Lewisburg Area School District, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total of the Bid, shall be submitted with each bid.  The Bidder shall include the fully completed non-collusion affidavit with the bid.

A Pre-Bid conference will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday February 5, 2019 at Kelly Elementary School located at 325 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837. Each Prime Contractor intending on submitting a bid is encouraged to attend.

The bidder’s attention is called to the fact that this Contract is subject to all applicable provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act (Act No. 442) and bids shall be prepared accordingly. The applicable prevailing wage predetermination is included in the Contract Documents.

Bids may be held by the OWNER for up to 60 days from the date of opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the contract. Lewisburg Area School District reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject any or all Bids and to waive irregularities in any Bid. Further, Lewisburg Area School District reserves the right to award any combination of Alternates, or no Alternates, which in its sole discretion, serves the best interests of the School District.

Corporations seeking to bid which are organized under the laws of a State other than Pennsylvania must secure the appropriate certificate, authorizing them to conduct business within the Commonwealth.

Advertisement for Bids: High School Phase 2A Site Work

Sealed proposals for the Phase 2A Sitework project at the Newman Road Campus will be received online via the PennBid Program ( by Lewisburg Area School District until 1:00 PM, Prevailing Time, on Friday, March 8, 2019, and will be publicly opened and read aloud at 1:10 PM at Linntown Intermediate School, Central Office Conference Room, 1951 Washington Avenue, Lewisburg, PA 17837 via PennBid.

Project Bidding documents will be available online at no cost to Bidders on or after January 31, 2019 via the PennBid Program (

The bids must cover all costs for the completion of this project as set forth in the Project Manual. The principal items of work to be performed under the contract are: 1) earthwork and grading operations; 2) erosion and sediment controls; 3) storm water management controls/facilities; 4) underground utility piping; 5) aggregate and bituminous paving; and 6) work of similar nature.  It should be noted that the project contains a Base Bid and two Add Alternates.

Bid security in an amount not less than 10% of the amount of the bid will be required in the form of certified check, cashier’s check, bank treasurer’s check, or satisfactory bid bond made payable to or naming as obligee Lewisburg Area School District.  All bids will remain irrevocable for 60 days after the actual date of bid opening in compliance with Act 317 of 1978 approved November 26, 1978.

Bidders are advised that they must comply with All State anti-kickback regulations pertaining to work associated with this project. You are required to submit an executed anti-collusion statement with the bid.

The Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act (Act No. 442 – Session of 1961) shall apply to this project, as defined within the Project Manual, since this contract is estimated to cost more than $25,000.00.

A Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract and each with satisfactory corporate surety, will be required to be furnished by the successful bidder at the time stated in the specifications.

A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at the Lewisburg Area High School, 545 Newman Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837, on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM.  All prospective bidders are recommended to attend this meeting.  The meeting will be held at the top of the loading dock service area at the rear of the school.

Lewisburg Area School District hereby reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, or informalities, in bids received, to reject any and/or all bids submitted and to accept any bid which it may deem to be in the best interests of the School.
