Summer Reading Initiative (K-2)

We would like to wish everyone a safe and exciting summer break and look forward to seeing all of our students return to school in August. It is very important that students consistently spend time reading over the summer break so they can continue to use the literacy skills learned during the school year. To help encourage students to read, we have created a summer reading program each year.

This year, our program will have an Olympics theme where students can read a variety of books in different settings to different people (or pets, stuffed animals, etc.).  Students will mark each reading session on a BINGO card that can be returned to school in August.  We are also offering three reading challenges (Triathlon) for an extra reward.  Students will be given information about the summer reading program before the end of school, but you can also download the reading log and information below if you misplace it over the summer.

Students moving to Linntown next year will participate in any Linntown reading program that is offered. Thank you for your continued support and enjoy your summer adventures.
