Linntown Intermediate School hosted its annual career day, bringing in 36 professionals from a wide range of fields to introduce students to diverse career paths and the education required for them. The event highlights strong community involvement and aims to broaden students’ perspectives by exposing them to careers they may not have previously considered.
Kelly Elementary Artist-in-residence

Kelly Elementary students are working with an artist-in-residence to create ceramic tiles that showcase their creativity and collaboration while reflecting the school’s DASH values. The finished tiles will be displayed as a permanent installation, made possible through support from the Perry County Council of the Arts and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
Bucknell athletes read for Black History Month

Bucknell University tennis player Tori Allen visited Kelly Elementary School as part of a Black History Month reading initiative, sharing stories about trailblazing athletes and emphasizing the importance of representation in sports. Allen, inspired by Serena Williams at a young age, hopes to encourage local students to see themselves in their dreams while strengthening the connection between Bucknell and the Lewisburg community.

We are incredibly proud of Lewisburg Area High School senior and Student Council President Gibson O’Mealy, who was selected as the only student to speak at the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s annual all-staff meeting and has since been invited by Secretary Carrie Rowe to appear in a statewide video campaign highlighting public education. In his address, Gibson honored history teacher and Model UN adviser Dakota Gessner for his mentorship and reflected on the exceptional opportunities and educators that make Lewisburg such a special place to learn and grow. 💚🐉 #GreenDragonPride

Green Dragons wrap up HAC-II title

Lewisburg’s Cooper Mowry poured in 21 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Green Dragons to a 68–60 win over Montoursville on Tuesday night. The victory clinched the Heartland Athletic Conference Division II title and secured Lewisburg a spot in the HAC Tournament.

Lewisburg erased a 16-point first-half deficit with a dominant defensive effort after halftime, rallying past Mifflinburg 36–28 on the road. The comeback win snapped a four-game losing streak and showcased the Green Dragons’ resilience and intensity down the stretch.
Lewisburg romps over Mount Carmel

Lewisburg boys basketball had all five starters score in double figures as the Green Dragons cruised to a 78–56 win over Mount Carmel, remaining undefeated in Heartland Athletic Conference Division II play. Strong outside shooting and balanced scoring helped Lewisburg build an early lead and pull away for the convincing home victory.

Superintendent Vincent Hoover recently spoke at a League of Women Voters of Lewisburg event about how Lewisburg Area School District is thoughtfully integrating artificial intelligence as a tool to support teaching, learning, and critical thinking. Joined by CSIU’s Dr. Bernadette Ulrich Boerckel, he highlighted how AI when used with clear guidelines and safeguards can enhance equity, creativity, and real-world skill development for students while keeping learning rooted in the classroom.

Tia Berge Earns 4th All-State Honor

Lewisburg senior Tia Berge was named to the Pennsylvania High School Field Hockey Coaches Association All-State First Team, earning all-state honors for an area-leading fourth time and becoming the first four-time honoree from the region since 2016. A standout midfielder for the Green Dragons, Berge led Lewisburg this season with 16 goals and 10 assists, finishing her career with 42 goals and 126 points.
